Marvin Booher Obituary

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Marvin Elbert Booher, age 81, of 400 Shelby St., went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 12, 2005, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn. He was born Dec. 1, 1923, in the Emmett community, a son of the late Walter Elbert and Lorena Lyons Booher, and had made his home in Bristol all of his life. Mr. Booher was a retired employee of Cortrim Hardwoods Parts Co., member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church, former choir member, was active in the Meals on Wheels and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara B Cobb and husband Curtis Sr.; two grandsons, Curtis J. Cobb Jr. and Timothy Jason Cobb; two great-granddaughters, Taylor N. Nelson and Alina Sage Cobb; sister, Rachel Smith and husband Tom; brother, Frank Booher and wife Mitzi; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. in the Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Shipley Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975. Pallbearers will be Curtis J. Cobb Jr., T. Jason Cobb, Daryl Blaylock, Jerry Blaylock, Tom Yates and Daniel Booher. E-mail condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuneralhome.net. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Weaver Funeral Home.
