Just had the chance to stop by "Marts" and talk to Johnny and his boys. It has been over 10 years since I have been back to Chicago, but my memories of meeting and being a friend with Mart and his family will always be a life high lite.
I thank God that He crossed our paths for some 13 years. He was a person that all should have had the pleasure to know. He is missed.

I left Chicago in 2003. I used to be a regular at Marty's 1st restaurant. I was invited to and attended his Sweet 16 party in 1997. In those years, the Randolph St area was just starting. Marty's place was always a place where I felt at home and Marty was always there to personally take me to my table when I came in for dinner. He was a true friend. With great sadness I learned tonight of Marty's passing after living in Europe for the past 11 years. His hospitality, friendship and great food will alway be a fond memory to me as I often think of the sanctuary called Mart Antony's.

My deepest sympathy to the Campo family on the passing of "Mart". When I moved to Chicago Mart was one of the first people to welcome me to the neighborhood when I stopped in for lunch. That introduction turned into a quick, warm, personal friendship that my wife Di, my kids and all my friends who came to visit cherished. Any one I brought would always ask about Mart and his excellent food and hospitality whenever I spoke with them. I also met many of Mart's friends at the restaurant and called Mart's my "go to" place in all of Chicago. I know he will be welcomed into the kingdom as a good and faithful servant.
He will always be a bright memory in my life. Many Blessings to you all. "Big" Jim McMillin

Condolences to Marty's network of family and friends. My family and friends have been going to Mart Antony's for years. Although the food and service are excellent, it was Marty's welcoming spirit that made the place extra special. Thanks for taking such good care of us. You will be missed.

Always a good time going to Mart Anthony's with the old Empire Carpeting gang, our family's, Super Bowl party, or just to stop by for great food and drink.

It won't be the same without Marty. He always put a smile on my face.

So sad to hear the passing of Marty. He was a kind and sincere person, and welcomed everyone with friendly open arms. I've known Marty and have been eating at his restaurant since the late 80's. He was an iconic legend in the neighborhood, with a voice and character like no other. He always greeted me with a big warm smile and hug, and the food was/is always delicious!
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.....who I'm sure will keep the tradition alive. He will truely be missed!
RIP with your beloved wife Marty. Cheers!

Marty was a kind and thoughtful neighbor to those of us who were lucky enough to know him. Hubbard and Racine will not be the same without his warm greetings and funny observations. We send our prayers to his family and will remember him always.
