Family-Placed Death Notice

MARTHA WILCOXSON McCRARY The Triumph Celebration for Martha Wilcoxson McCrary of Atlanta will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 120 Green Street, Fairburn, Georgia on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Stanley, pastor. Mrs. McCrary is survived by one daughter, Ms. Gloria Wilcoxson-Locke, grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Guy (Ramoni), and Ryan Locke, one great-grandchild, Peyton Guy, three sisters, Ms. Virginia McCaslin, Mr. and Mrs. Reubin Walthall (Evelyn), and Ms. Geneva Bridges, three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilcoxson (Trudy), Mr. and Mrs. John Wilcoxson (Rosette) Jr., and Mr. James Wilcoxson, all of Metropolitan Atlanta, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. McCrary was employed by Grady Hospital for forty-one years, working in Pediatrics and eventually Coordinator of Nursing Services. She made history as the first African-American Ward Clerk hired by the Hospital. During recent months, the Hospital requested her services as a historian in documenting the history of the world-renowned health facility and Crisis Center. Family and friends will assemble at 80 Milo Fisher Street, Fairburn, Georgia at 10:00 a.m. Remains will lie in repose from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
