Dear Mark's family, We were saddened to hear about Mark today, July 8. We lived next door to Mark for many years on 21st Place, and he was a great friend and neighbor. We enjoyed barbeques, cooking, wine and the occasional sunset. He always had a special smile & hello for our daughter, Julia. Julia shared a love for Mark's adopted cat, Houlihan. We also remember his inspiring battle to beat cancer. We are sorry that we didn't know about the Manhattan Beach gathering, and wanted to send our condolences on your loss. With deep sympathy, The Chambers family

I really liked Mark. I can picture so clearly his beautiful eyes, his peaceful expression and his infectious smile. He was gentle, soft-spoken and playful...beautiful on the inside and the outside. It's so disturbing to realize the torment he must have been going through. It's such a tragic loss. I'll miss him, too.
Love,

Dear Phyllis, Shari and family,
Speaking for myself and perhaps many of Mark's friends and co-workers here in Los Angeles, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. It has been a painful few days since we heard of your tragedy. The internet and phones have been filled with outpourings of sadness, shock, grief and loss. I've known Mark for more than 20 years, which is nearly half a lifetime and an eternity in our business. I learned a lot from him. He was one of the best Assistant Cameramen I have ever known, and one of the best Camera Operators, too. I will miss him. Hopefully I will be present with you at the vigil for him on Saturday night.
With sympathy,
Scott Kaye
