MARJORIE ABRAMS Obituary

ABRAMS, Marjorie Of Pembroke, formerly of Brookline. Entered into rest April 2nd 2014 following a brief illness at the age of 78. Marjorie attended the American School for the Deaf. Dear daughter of the late Dr. Maurice I. Abrams and Shirley (Zolloto) Abrams. Loving sister of Linda (Abrams) Braun and her husband Dr. Peter Braun of Arlington; Barbara (Abrams) Schneider and her husband Dr. David Schneider of Swampscott. Cherished aunt of Jonathan Braun and his wife Diana, Rebecca Braun, Lisa Schneider and her husband John Stickevers and Judith (Schneider) Nunez. Eight great nieces and nephews, many loving cousins, friends and caretakers at New England Village. Marjorie lived for more than 40 years at New England Village, a community for adults with handicaps that was co-founded by her parents. This community in Pembroke serves as a model of residential living for adults with intellectual disabilities allowing them to live a dignified enriching life. Marjories family extends great appreciation for the loving care she received during her time at the Village. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 6th 2014 at 12:30pm at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St, BROOKLINE. Interment will follow at Shara Tfilo Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, W. Roxbury. Memorial observance will be held following the interment at the home of Linda and Peter Braun until 8pm as well as on Monday from 3-8pm.
