Dear Family of Marie, especially Carl,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Marie. We were neighbors of Marie and Carl in Chicago on Harding Street. We moved to Florida at the same time that they moved away from Harding. Remind Carl of Debbie and Bruce with the twin boys Nick and Chris.
My memories of Marie are warm and wonderful. She worked at St. Viator's for so many years and inspired me to do the same. I met Carl and Marie shortly after we moved to Harding Street at the annual Villa Dinner. They sat at our table. After dinner, Marie stood up, totally unannounced and broke into beautiful song. "Getting to know you..." she greeted each table and each guest. I was overwhelmed with her talent and confidence. In his wonderful sense of humor, Carl quipped: "Now where did that come from?"
We grew to know them better and love them dearly. We were so pleased when the family recognized their need to "downsize" and be closer.
I just wanted to let you know that both Marie and Carl are often in our thoughts and prayers. Please pass our heartfelt sympathy on to Carl and the entire family.
