Let me begin by expressing my deepest sympathy upon the passing of Aunt Marian. I have such fond and strong memories of Marian and Murph when I was growing up. My mother adored them and made it no secret. Was there ever a classier duo? They were constant visitors to our apartment on Thorndale. It was effortless to get a rise out of Murph. He would laugh so hard that his face turned fire engine red. Even though Marian may not have been in on the original joke, Murph's outburst was so infectious that the twinkle in her eye would suddenly give way to tears of laughter. They were both constant sources of love and good cheer and I adored being with them. After my mom lost her eyesight I would frequently drop her off to visit with Marian at her condo on Touhy. After we moved to San Diego, they still kept in touch and mom's face would light up each time Marian called. Mine too! My thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be missed.

With equal doses of love and sorrow,

Scott Marks

Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of the Rubenstein family. Aunt Marian is also the last of the Rubenstein family of Ethel & William Rubenstein. We have fond memories of happy times together. We hope that all of the happy memories you have will help comfort you at this sad time.

Love, Fran Pelly and Carol Romberg

Our condolences to the Rubenstein family and to our cousins Billy, Eddie and Leila.

We have fond recollections of "Aunt Mary"--her utter devotion to Uncle Murphy and her children, their spouses and the grandchildren and great grandchildren we do not know.

I especially remember many happy visits to Grandma Fanny and Grandpa Abe when they and the Rubenstein family shared the duplex on Wilson Avenue. It gave us--the cousins--a chance to play in both houses and behave ourselves (or not) under the watchful eye of your mom--Aunt Marian.

She had a dry sense of humor and a genuinely relaxed attitude toward sometimes mischievous young children--or at least that's how it seemed.

We will miss her and note with sorrow that Marian's death brings to a close the lives of a remarkable group of siblings who were the children of Abraham and Fannie Schwartz.

To the Rubenstein Family -my deepest sympathies to each of you - not sure if you remember me but my parents were Sam and Gen Aaronson. I live in Los Angeles and read the Chicago Obits every so often and found this today - how lucky you were to have had Aunt Marion for so many years -I hope you have wonderful memories to store. My parents have been gone for a very long time 1977 and 1982 so I didn't have the time frames you did - I am so sorry for your loss and my deepest sympathies to each of you. Ruth Aaronson Sherman - [email protected] or 818-902-0331. Aunt Esther passed away a few years ago and Scott and I are quite close - he lives in San Diego, and my brother Danny lives in Miami.
