Dear Suzanne,
It is so hard to believe that a year has gone by since Maria went up to a more wonderful "vacation home" than any of us has ever seen!

I'm sorry we won't be able to join you tonight for the celebration of Maria's great spirit.

Love,
Kiya & Debbie

The photo in the paper caught my eye. I was saddened to hear of Maria's passing. Although I directly worked with Maria at the Hyatt for a short 6 months, her wisdom and kindness was a great influence on me. She taught me the basics of being a good manager, just by saying hello in passing works wonders.

My condolences to Maria's family and close friends.

Lost love is still love. It takes a different form. You can't see their smile or bring them food or dance or tousle their hair. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it. Life has to end, love doesn't.

Maria was a wonderful person, forever she will be remembered in our hearts. What a great friend she was to my sister, Dawn Connolly, and all of our family.

During my 20 years at the Hyatt, Maria and I laughed and cried through the emotional ups and downs of our lives. She was so supportive when I found out that my brother was dying of AIDS, and a great listener as I told her all about him. On the day I got the phone call at work that his time was short, and I would have to leave immediately for Hawaii (where he lived), there was Maria - she came to me in the restaurant kitchen with a pair of slippers "to wear on the long plane trip". That simple act of kindness was just one of many reasons that I've never forgotten Maria.

I send my condolences to her family and many friends, and a thank you for including her picture with her obituary.

Sincerely,

Sandy Grossman

THE JOY OF UNSELFISH GIVING

TIME IS NOT MEASURED BY THE YEARS THAT YOU LIVE BUT BY THE DEEDS THAT YOU DO AND THE JOY THAT YOU GIVE AND EACH DAY AS IT COMES BRINGS A CHANCE TO EACH ONE TO LOVE TO THE FULLEST,LEAVE NOTHING UNDONE THAT WOULD BRIGHTEN THE LIFE OR LIGHTEN THE LOAD OF SOME WEARY TRAVELER LOST ON LIFE'S ROAD SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER HOW LONG WE MAY LIVE IF AS WE LIVE WE UNSELFIHLY GIVE.

WE'LL MISS YOU NOW,OUR HEARTS ARE SORE,AS TIME GOES BY WE WILL MISS YOU MORE

MARIA WAS ONE IN A MILLION,UNIQUE,AND ALWAYS DID THINGS HER WAY (LOVE ALWAYS FREDDIE NEWMAN)

Whatever family gatherings through-out the years , you could count on Maria to add life and humor . She passed this way but once , and she left her mark . We are all better for it . You can be sure that heaven is a little livelier today . Go with God , Maria . We miss you .
