Margaret Varela Obituary

Varela, Margaret Mae (nee Foster), age 64, of Lansing, IL, passed away April 6, 2007, with her two loving children by her side. She is survived by her son, Stephen (Caroline) Varela; daughter, Elizabeth (Chris) Carrier; sister, Mary (Robert) Freeman, as well as her beloved cat, Pumpkin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Francis, and brothers, William and Douglas. Visitation Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Rosemoor Funeral Home, 17943 Torrence Ave., in Lansing. Funeral service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at the Rosemoor Funeral Home. Margaret lived humbly and worked hard all her life for the sole benefit of her son and daughter. Her occupation as a Realtor spanned more than three decades at Silverwood Realtors in Chicago and most recently, as customer service representative at the American School of Correspondence in Lansing. She was an avid reader, dedicated gardener and received much joy from her many pets, all of which were adopted strays.
