Hello, Seckel/Parris family. Mrs Seckel passed many years ago, and I have just seen news of the passing of her niece Nina last year. My husband and I (Fakhreddin and Talat Azimi) had the great good fortune to meet Mrs Seckel a number of times (having tea in the upstairs elegant drawing room, or cool summer mosel in Blaschko garden or the community gardens of Park Town) when she visited her brother, our dear, dear Dr. (Hermann) Blaschko and his amazing wife Mary, our dear Mrs. Blaschko, in Oxford. So many years ago. We lived in their upstairs (under the eaves) flat at 24 Park Town - spend the nicest years there as we studied at St. Antony's College. We lived there from 1980 to 1986, when we moved to London following the completion of my husband's D.Phil. I think we also met Nina. And I've always had the names of Carl and Tom in my mind, esp after we moved to the States in 1991- to Storrs, CT, where we have lived since. My husband is prof of history at UConn. I have often tried to locate Nina, Carl and Tom throughout the years - a task only made easier once the internet arrived.
I just wanted to make contact, and send all good wishes. What a privilege to have met the remarkable Mrs. Seckel, and to have shared so many great years under the roof of her brother and sister in law, our precious 'Blaschkos'. I could never get over the fact that Dr. Blaschko had an 'American' sister - he was so gentille-ly old German, so Oxford. I have always wanted to be in touch with any family members. If you ever see this message, and ever have the inclination, please do get in touch. I have entered my email address for the use of Levayah Funerals. Kindest regards, (Ms.) Talat Azimi (Storrs, CT)
