I grew up with my cousin Joyce in Raleigh, NC. Where Joyce and I were born and raised. I remember going to school and Joyce, me and my beloved brother Dwight would all sit together on the bus. Joyce and I attended the same college and both pursued the same career as being a teacher. Joyce helped me obtain my teaching career in SMCPS. I will always remember Joyce for her kind words and warming smile for every individual that she encountered.
She was truly a beautiful person.
Love,

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Joyce High. I met Mrs. High about 20 years ago. One memory I would like to share was the way she often spoke of herself in the third person especially when she was dealing with a troubled student. She would say, "You know Mrs. High don't like ugly." Mrs. High was always very soft spoken which impacted her students as well as her colleagues. She will be missed.

Mrs. High was truly a blessing to all that had the pleasure to know her. She taught me at Chopticon. We worked together when she worked as a substitute teacher at Chopticon. She would always tell people I was one of her Favorite student's. Mrs. High made sure she kept up with her former student's lives. She genuinely cared about others. She was a beautiful person inside and out! Her pleasant demeanor and ever present smile will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to The High Family and all of her special friends. God bless you all!

My deepest sympathies to Joyce's family and friends. Joyce was my next door neighbor at Chopticon for many years. Such a kind and generous person! I used to say to students if they didn't like Mrs. High they were the ones with a problem. She was always willing to go out of her way to help students and other teachers. In fact, when I was studying to be a teacher, her class was one of the first that I observed. Always patient with her students, she made such a significant impact on many young people. She will be missed but every memory I have of her is a pleasant one. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.

My deepest condolences to Mrs. High's loved ones. She was a remarkable lady full of kindness and a genuine caring for others. She was a wonderful friend. Our moms were ill and coincidentally shared rooms together more than once. We checked in on each other's mom and looked after each other. She also taught my children. She always had a smile and a positive outlook on life. She was an angel here on earth and we were blessed to have her be part of our lives. You will be missed Joyce High. Rest In Peace. God bless you!

Mrs. High meant so much to so many. The impact we have on others are the memories that will live on long after our time here on Earth. Mrs. High had a positive impact on so many and we will cherish our memories of our time together. I will remember the times we shared working together at Chopticon High and the her soft and quiet tone. I admired her patience and understanding, her great sense of humor, and the quiet way she led by example. Heaven has truly gained an angel. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

May God Bless Blue, Chris and Sherrie as you proceed through this unplanned season of living. Joyce was part of a strong foundation for the students that she taught and mentored as well as staff at CHS. Her soft spoken words were well received. As a friend, co-worker and humorous car pool buddy she brought calmness, prayer and many blessings to me. Joyce exemplified pride inside. Condolences from my family to yours.

My condolences to the High family. I was her student for US History back in 1989. I also had her for homeroom two years. She was one of my favorite teachers at Chopitcon and made my high school years a little less daunting. Her smile lit a room up and she always had one. Heaven got a true angel. God bless.

I considered Joyce on of my dearest friends. She was one of the sweetest and most genuine people I ever met. Our friendship began in 1987 when she took this new teacher under her wing. We often joked that she taught me everything I needed to know about teaching. She did teach me so much, not just about teaching, but about life. Joyce was a wonderful educator and an even better person. You were an angel on earth and now you have your wings. My deepest condolences to Blue, Chris, Sherrie and family.

If you were here to read this message, you would have no problem believing: you were a friend indeed, I loved you so very much, and you will be greatly missed. I don't know why God called you home. However, I know He does not make any mistakes; and, His will has been done. As a believer in Christ, I'll see you later. Continue to wear that smile that you were always sporting. Don't worry about Gail, your adopted sister, I'll keep an eye on her for you. You will always be a beautiful memory in my heart and soul. Joanie Titus
