Margaret Gresham Obituary

Gresham, Margaret "Marge" S. born October 31, 1914 in Chicago, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2003, in La Jolla, after courageously battling Leukemia. Marge and Bill were married on February 4, 1939 after a short courtship of only three weeks and celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. While living in Chicago, Marge worked at the Cook County Assessors Office, later becoming a show- room model at the Palmer House and worked as a hostess for the Stauffer restaurant chain. Marge looked forward to Sundays where she spent her happiest days attending Stage Productions and movies at the Palace, State & Lake, and Oriental theatres. She often said it was these times she was in 7th heaven. The Greshams moved to San Diego after WWII and eventually settled in Ocean Beach where she opened a yardage store known as "Mi Ladies Yardage." It opened on St. Patrick's Day in 1948 and was successfully run until 1960 at which time she retired. All who knew Marge, loved her stylish and gracious ways. She will be sorely missed. Survivors include her husband Bill and family members in Chicago. At her request there will be no viewing or services. She will be interred at El Camino Memorial Park. Donations in her memory may be made to: Vitas Hospice, 8880 Rio San Diego Drive, San Diego, CA, 92108. Visit Guest Book at www.suntimes.com
