Margaret Dunn Obituary

Mrs. Margaret George Dunn, age 86, of Wilmington, NC, and a longtime resident of Winchester, VA, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at the New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Dunn was born August 2, 1918, in Albemarle County, VA, the daughter of the late Walter Bateler and Pearl Carruthers George. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where she taught kindergarten for 17 years, taught Sunday School and served as former directress of the Altar Guild. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was a graduate of John Handley High School, Class of 1937.

Mrs. Dunn married Harry William Dunn on November 26, 1936, in Denton, MD. Mr. Dunn died October 16, 2004. They had been married sixty-seven years.

Surviving are three children: Sally Quinn Dunn VanMetre of Lewes, DE, Patricia Ann Dunn Hill of Wilmington, NC, and George Carruthers Dunn of Richmond, VA, three grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. A sister, Frances Anderson, is deceased.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, with Reverend Douglas McCaleb officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, on Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions maybe made to the Christ Episcopal Church Living Memorial Fund, 114 W. Boscawen Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
