Let me start with: My thoughts and prayers are with all you during this difficult time. I cannot help but think back with bittersweet memories to my younger days hanging out in the Carroll "kitchen" (downstairs of course) while Mrs. Carroll (who we always lovingly called "Loretta" in private...) sat at the table, mug in hand, reading the paper or simply chatting with the kids and their friends. No one had quite the infectious laugh! Being one of those friends, Loretta always made you feel welcomed in her home. When she wasn't having lunch at WonderBurger with Mrs. Corley, she was standing in the driveway, arms crossed, keeping a stern but sparking eye on her brood. I doubt there was ever another friend's parent who made us kids feel so welcomed and part of the family as did Loretta. Even in my adult years when I might have the pleasure of running into Loretta somewhere, there was a hug, an smile and a "Patti, it's sooooo good to see you; you look great." To the entire Carroll family: Loretta was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
