Margaret Billings Obituary

GARY — Margaret K. Billings, 95, of Gary, W.Va., formerly of Thorpe, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the McDowell Nursing and Rehab Center.Born February 6, 1914 in Gary, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Louis Berentes and Mary Mesca. She was a homemaker, and a lifelong resident of Gary, residing in Thorpe the greater part of her life. She was a member of the Thorpe Untied Methodist Church where she was very active, serving in various capacities. She loved her gardening, flowers and cooking.She was preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her husband, Elmer Price Billings; brothers, Steve, Andrew, Louis, and Joe Berentes; sisters, Julia Berentes, and Elizabeth Hazelrigg; and son-in-law, Jimmy Boner.Survivors include one son, David Billings and wife Gina of Unicoi, Tenn.; three daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann Tadych of Milwaukee, Wis., Marie Tabbert and husband Bob of Fondulac, Wis., and Margie Boner of Gary, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Tony Tabbert, Julie Themer and Pam Hagen all of Michigan; two great-grandchildren, Zackery Tabbert and Joey Tabbert of Milwaukee, Wis.Friends may call at the Fanning Funeral Home in Welch at 11:00 a.m. with services at noon.Funeral service will be Saturday at noon in the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Elizabeth Yost officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va. Pallbearers will be Bill Chapman, Aaron Chapman, Josh Bowman, Jackie Fowler, and Morgan Gibson.Memorial gifts may be made to the Thorpe United Methodist Church, P.O.
