Marcelle Lynn Crain
COWPENS, SC-- Marcelle Lynn Crain, 82, of 325 Island Creek Road, Cowpens, SC died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at her residence. A native of Greenville County, she was the wife of the late Rev. Homer Lee Crain and the daughter of the late Boyce and Minnie Thompson Lynn. Mrs. Crain was a homemaker and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Linder and husband Keith of Chesnee; a son, David Crain and wife Jessie of Cowpens; three sisters, Ida Mae Tapp, Elmina Sturgill and Joanna Hand all of Lyman; three grandchildren, Keith Tennyson, Scott Crain and Vicki C. Williams; and six great-grandchildren, Leah Crain, Reagan Crain, Drew Williams, Weston, Waylon and Rebecca Tennyson. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Virgie Lee Bishop, Velma Jones and Vade Hendrix; and six brothers, Colie Lynn, Sloan Lynn, Roy Lynn, Ralph Lynn, Donald Lynn and Rudford Lynn.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 7, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Piedmont Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Wade Huntley, the Rev. Darrell Revels and the Rev. Rick Taylor. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the residence.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Avenue, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
