Dr. Marcel Fredericks, age 97, of Skokie, died Monday, April 7, 2025, in Skokie. Devoted son of the late Edward and Mary, née Singh, he was born April 26, 1927, in British Guyana. Professor Emeritus, Loyola University Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Dr. Janet P., née Gallagher; dear brother of Louis, Virginia Kowlessar, Martin, Lawrence, Margaret Beharry, John Noel, Hermie Haniff, Paul Edward, Hubert, Raymond, and Anthony "Algie"; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation, Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Funeral, Friday, April 11, at 9:45 a.m., from the funeral home, for Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at St. Peter Church of Ss. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish, 8100 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip.
