M. Kinnick Obituary

Sr. M. Placida Kinnick, SSJ-TOSF At the age of 95, Sister Placida Kinnick slipped away in Francis Hall of the Immaculata Congregational Home in Bartlett, IL. She was a beloved member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, T.O.S.F., having joined this community when the Sisters of St. Francis of Rice Lake, Wisc. merged with the SSJ's in 1967. Sister was a homemake during her 72 years in religious life at the Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago, IL and at the convents in Rice Lake, Wisc. and Bartlett, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludmila (Janusek) and Michael as well as her brothers and sisters. She was the loving aunt of many nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews. Services are scheduled for visitation and wake on Sunday, August 22nd, 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. to be followed by Mass in the Sacred Heart Chapel of Immaculata Convent, 801 W. Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL. Sister's remains will be taken to St. Joseph Church, Rice Lake, Wisc. on Monday where visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, August 24th the Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the SSJ-TOSF Development Office in memory of Sister, P.O. Box 388129, Chicago, IL 60638. Arrangements by Countryside Funeral Home, 630-289-7575 and Appleyard Funeral Home, Rice Lake, Wisc.
