Gradually, you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And, when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.
This poem is an excerpt from John O´Donohue´s book of blessings called "To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings."

I didn’t spend much time with Lyn as we lived on opposite sides of the country and in two different countries for the last ten years. Every time I met with her was memorable and significant for me. Her strength and resilience and sense of humour was a source of inspiration for me. Mark and Lyn’s last visit to Ireland was particularly memorable. We visited Knock, a Catholic shrine, one of the many she visited in Europe, as she looked for strength and guidance while living with cancer. Afterwards, we visited Ballintubber Abbey , the oldest church in Ireland, where we all experienced a sense of calm and connection , with each other and with the spirit that connects us all.

Truly the loss off a great lady. She empowered many (including me). So appreciated - so loved - deeply missed.

Lyn was always smiling and upbeat when I worked with her at NSC. Her cancer never seemed to slow her down. May Lyn's family and friends take comfort in their happy memories of her. She'll be in my prayers.

I send my sincerest sympathies to Mark, Kieran and Desmond. Lyn was a true original. She said what she thought, she served gourmet dinners extraordinaire, but most of all she had a sense of humor unparalleled. She joked about her first wig Marie, her mom Millie, her blue dress and Mother McCauley an all girls Chocago Catholic high school she attended. We laughed until our stomachs ached when Lyn was holding court. She will be missed by so many family and friends. After so many years fighting cancer, she deserves to RIP in heaven.
