Lura Irene Ellis Miller, age 102, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009, at the Windsor Healthcare & Rehab Center in Windsor, Missouri. She was born in Camden County, Missouri, on July 1, 1906, the first of eight children born to Truman and Julia Tobey Ellis.
On September 15, 1924, she was united in marriage to Earl O. Miller, of Edwards, Missouri. Unto this union two sons and one daughter were born. They made their home in Climax Springs area. . Lura was a homemaker and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a fine cook and loved prepare meals for her family and friends. In 1975 they moved to their home in Warsaw, Missouri. After seventy-five year of marriage Earl passed away on November 11, 1999. Lura continued to live in Warsaw until suffering a stroke in 2002. At that time she became a resident of the Windsor Healthcare & Rehab Center where she remained until her death.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Flossie Whitworth, Ethel Kumpf, Inez Bohart, Lois Waisner, and Anna Smith, and two brothers, Chester Ellis and Archie Ellis, two grandchildren and one great- grandchild.
Lura joined the Presbyterian Church of Climax Springs at an early age.
She is survived by one daughter, Earlene McCoy, of Shawnee, Kansas, and two sons, Wayne Miller, and his wife, Wilma, and Ken Miller, and his wife, Bernita, all of Windsor, Missouri, nine grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 22, 2009, at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw, with Rev. Kenneth Angle officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Burial will be in the Climax Springs Cemetery in Climax Springs, Missouri.
