Lowery Edward Owen, 73, of Waynesville, North Carolina, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a truck driver, died on Friday, August 30, 2002. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 1, 2002, 7-9 p.m., at Garrett Funeral Home, 460 North Main Street, Waynesville. Services are scheduled for Monday, September 2, 2 p.m., at the funeral home, officiated by Reverends Ted Reeves, Carl Cook and Elmer Caldwell. Burial will be at Allison's Cemetery. Military honors will be conferred by the American Legion. Memorial donations are appreciated to Kelly's Home Health Care, 461 Crabtree Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
