Dear Robin,

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband Louis.
I used to reside at 1320 and have many fond memories of him ( morning coffee cup in hand )in front of our building as I returned from morning walks. He was often with one or two of your handsome sons...I believe your eldest was a bit younger than my step son Robert Connelly when he was at Latin.
Again, my very deepest sympathies and warmest thoughts.

Dear Robin,
Since seeing you briefly on Thursday night 9/2, I had no idea that Louis has passed. I am very sorry for your loss. I was not aware of his illness and will have nothing, but fond memories of him and remember his joyful attitude when we crossed paths.

My deepest regards,

Tita and Gene Zeffren

August 29, 2010

Dear Robin, Meta and family,

Gene and I have been traveling or with house guests until today when I was finally able to sit and collect my thoughts. Louis was always with a smile, a cheerful greeting and always, always brightened the days of those he greeted. Our last time was here in Aspen at the market when, though he was not well, never seemed to outwardly give in. Our paths crossed often, but never enough. Please know that you have been in our thoughts and your family in our prayers though distance kept us from sharing your extremely difficult time. We are genuinely sorry for your incredible loss.

Most fondly,

August 28, 2010

Dear Robin:
I was out of town last week and did not hear the news about Louis till today. Although since our days of playing basketball were long over and the times I actually saw Louis the last several years were few and far between, we always seemed to pick up as if we just talked the day before. We shared great conversations where we both enjoyed trading stories and laughing. Simply put, he was a great guy and his loss will be felt for a long time. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family at this time.

To Louis's grieving family~
The exquisite memorial service this afternoon was indeed the perfect compromise between Lou's desire for no fuss, and your need to celebrate his life with all the caring friends and family who gathered.
JR+ Michael; Jan and Jonathan; and the 3 couples -- even at this difficult time, each of you eloquently illuminated another facet of who Lou was -- what a wonderful tribute.
Meta and Robin -- I'm hoping the outpouring of love this afternoon, and the ongoing support of those who care so much will help to eventually ease the pain.
And know that we are part of that group...
Love~
