I met and interviewed Loretta at the 99s tent in Oshkosh, Wisconsin while I was working on my doctoral dissertation. Friends kept coming up to Loretta and interrupting our interview to say hello, which left me deeply impressed with how many people she had touched throughout her life. Loretta later very generously sponsored me as a “49-and-a-half” -- those of you who are 99s know what an honor this is. Thank you, Loretta, for your time and generosity and friendship. Alan D. Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of my friend, Loretta. I only today learned of her passing, since I moved from the Chicago area to Ohio 2 years ago. We were both members of the Chicago Area Chapter 99s and she was a very dear and sweet person. She will be greatly missed by many people.

Loretta and Russ were loyal members of the Illinois Chapter of the Silver Wings Fraternity. They have now both "gone west", but the pleasant memory of their just being here will be long remembered by their fellow Silver Wingers.
Happy landings, Loretta!
