Lonnie Mauck Obituary

Graveside service will be held for Lonnie G. Mauck, 56 years old of Auburn, who went to be with our Lord on October 22, 2011 after a six year battle with cancer. Lonnie was born February 22, 1955 in Porterville, CA to Cecil and Joyce Mauck. He attended local schools and graduated from Redwood High School in 1973. He served in the US Navy from 1973 to 1977 in the Sea Bees as a construction mechanic. After discharge from the Navy he began a 27 year career as a general contractor. Lonnie was a member of the Church of Christ since 1983. He also served as a commander of the American Legion Post 20 in Porterville. He is survived by his wife Shareen of 36 years and their 5 children, Rebekah Ervin (Brian) of Visalia, Laura Brown (Justin) of El Dorado Hills, Gayle Fabian (Peter) of Longmont, CO, Lonnie Jr. (Margy) of Eureka, William (Denise) of Forrest Hill and 11 grandchildren. Lonnie is also survived by his father and stepmother Cecil and Bonnie of Vacaville, brothers Ronnie of Porterville and Tommie of Bakersfield, sisters Barbara of Auburn and Pamela of Lexington, MD and numerous extended family. He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce and brother Benny. Lonnie was the strength and foundation of his family and an unending source of wisdom to many. His love for the Lord and his family was immense. His family thanks our Heavenly Father for the gift of Lonnie's life. He will be greatly missed. To Shareen and all the Mauck family...........what can I say as all of you know how much me and my family cared for and loved all of you....Lonnie was a wonderful, kind, compassionate and hard working man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him......sorry I wasn't able to be there as you know I am still in Australia....but my prayers and thoughts are will all of you......hugs and love Jackie

I had the pleasure of working with Lonnie on the Norman Wong custom residence in Porterville, CA. Lonnie was a trusted and hard worker during the course of construction. His infectous laugh and the man will be missed.

Your family has always held a special place in my heart. Lonnie was a good man. Sorry I could not make the service. Been a few years but I still remember when your kids would come over to swim, now they are married and made him a grandpa many times over, what a blessing. May God bless and give all of you peace.

Lonnie was very active in the local American Legion 40&8 for years before he moved north. He was a valuable part of veterans advocacy and patriotic awareness in Tulare County. He will be missed. Bill Morland, Legion Post 18.

Lonnie, the main man. You were ment to be a carpentor like Jesus from your earliest life. As a young teen I remember your skills with a hammer and screwdriver, under Grandmas table attempting to take it apart. Grandma always said "leave him along he's buisy."
