Lonnie Manning Obituary

To the Manning Family,

In 1976, Mr. Manning gave me the the privilege of joining the Ranger Choir and going on a Bicentennial Tour. He took a chance on me which became the start of an investment in my life that carries on into the lives of my children as well. He taught so much more than music, he provided life lessons. Thank you for sharing him with countless numbers of us over the years.

To the Manning Family,
I was so saddened to hear or Mr. Manning's passing. He was my choir teacher at Redwood High School in Visalia and my voice teacher whom I adored! I loved being a part of Chamber Singers and Bel Cantos'. I learned so much from him! He inspired me and gave me confidence in my singing! I was stunned when I heard the news! I am keeping your family in my prayers this holiday season and I know there is another special angel watching over you and so many of us! Thank you for sharing him with us!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Evelyn, You two were shining lights during our time at PTL.. I will always treasure my days at Heritage Academy abd taking voice lessons from Lonnie

Always had a great time together. God had His plan for Lonnie to lead the music in heaven

Aunt Evelyn, Though we are so far away we all would like you to know that our thoughts and love are near you during the loss of such a special person. Evelyn, Ted, Linda, Joey, and all the Manning family. I can only imagine what a shock this has been for all of you. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers. Thank God we are not people without hope for we know we will see him again some day. While we miss his presence here, we rejoice that he is with our savior and Jesus is smiling on him.

I will miss the times Lonnie sang to me in different languages, it really pulled at my heart strings. I will miss him! I will pray for you often Evelyn, love you lots! Love Heather

Love you Aunt Evelyn. Uncle Lonnie meant so much to me and our whole family he will be greatly missed. Our prayers and love to you and Ted and Linda and all the grandkids.

Thank you Manning family for "lending" Lonnie to so many of us. You were truly blessed by a talented and sweet man.

If there was ever a man who loved music and taught others to appreciate it, it was Mr. Manning. He was the best music teacher ever, and will be sorely missed.

To the entire Manning family, BJ and I want to express our condolences on the passing of Lonnie. I ran sound for him on several different occasions when he had concerts at various area churches. He was a lot of fun to be with. The people who knew him are better people for having known him and he will be missed. May God's presence be felt during this time of change and adjustment.

Lonnie and Evelyn. Wow, such amazing people. I am so glad God gave me the opportunity to know you . To learn from you and to worship with you. I know Lonnie's passing is hard and it leaves a huge void. But I thank God for Jesus and the promise of life eternal where we will never say good bye again. Thank you God for saving Lonnie and letting him touch so many lives. I am a life that was changed.

Mr Manning influenced many in their Christian walk, including me during my 10th grade year at Heritage Academy. The world will miss this Man of God. My prayers are with Mrs. Manning and their family.

I do not think I met Mr. Manning but I enjoyed you, Pastor Tedd very much! I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, my heart breaks for you and your family. May God be with you through the days and weeks that lie ahead.

Lonnie was an excellant teacher and really great guy!

I really enjoyed the love of music that he shared with us.

I'm so sorry he passed...

But there is joy yet to come, he has gone to see our King!

May the Lord comfort you during this time and remind you of earlier days and those better days yet to come.

Uncle Lonnie, you made a such great impression on many many people during your time here with us. Theresa adored you and I found out why. Among other things, You were a great teacher and leader and will be greatly missed. I am honored to have known you.
Aunt Evelyn, we love you and pray for strength for you through this trying time. On behalf of Theresa, who I'm sure is ecstatic to see her Uncle Lonnie, love from Will and all the rest of her Family.

Evelyn: You and Lonnie were such an inspiration to me; kind, loving, forgiving, hospitable, always pointing the way to the things of God!! It is such a great loss for all of us. We can only look forward to the day we all will be in Heaven together. My prayers are with you in this time of grieving. love always....

Evelyn, I was so very sad to hear of Lonnie's sudden passing! He was a dear, sweet man and you both were wonderful friends! I will be praying for you and God will be by your side as he's been by mine all these years!

Juanita and I were shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. You and Lonnie were dear friends while we attended Faith Fellowship in Alexandria. Our prayer is that God grant you grace and peace at this time knowing Lonnie is at rest never to be disturbed again.

Ms Manning and family, I am deeply sadden to learn of your tremendous loss and be assured those of us from DCC share in your mourning. Truly, both of you inspire and touch many in your talents, the least of which is me. I am the professor in the power chair in the Taylor Bldg.

Mr. Manning,

He was such a wonderful dedicated teacher. I took his voice class, he showed me that I could sing.
He was an inspiration himself his own voice was beautiful. When he sang he would fill the room with such an incredible sound. He was so encouraging to help you reach the high notes in your singing. My song was "Over The Rainbow", every time I think of him I will hear that song.
He will be greatly mised.

Lonnie had such a way of loving people,he was such a blessing to all who knew him. I am so grateful to have had him as a part of my life. I will always remember him and miss the sound of his voice. It was wonderful getting the chance to catch up, one last time. I just wish it had not been the last. I love you, always.

so sorry to hear about Mr. Manning I had him in music class this year. It was great hearing his stories about musicals and his family. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you Lonnie for loving me. Your gift of unconditional love will be with me the rest of my life. I am so blessed to have been a part of your family.
