Lois Simms Obituary

Simms, Lois W. 79, of Chicago and formerly of Queens, New York, died Wednesday in her south side apartment home. Ms. Simms was born February 27, 1924, in Chicago. She was actively involved with the Museum of Contemporary Art and loved to spend her time traveling abroad. Ms. Simms was also an educator in the New York Public School System. Ms. Simms is preceded in death by her parents, James E. Wilson, Sr. and Ruby B. Brown of Chicago and two brothers, James Wilson Jr. and Ralph Wilson. She is survived by one sister, Sallye Johnson of Calumet City, Illinois, three nieces, Wendy Broussard Grey and family in Palo Alto, California, Lois Bright Wilkins and family in Midland, Michigan and Faye Bright Juliot and family in Pinon Hills, California, one nephew, Ronnell Bright, Jr. and family in Austin, Texas. She had no children. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 S. Jeffery Blvd., Chicago, IL 60649.
