Linda Collien Obituary

Linda J. Collien, 55, of N 11937 West Line Rd. in Brownsville died June 26, 2003 at her residence. Linda was born September 13, 1937 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Junior and Margaret Hall Samp. On August 5, 1967 she married her best friend, Donald Collien at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac.

Linda attended St. Mary’s grade school in Fond du Lac and was graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy in 1965. For the next fourteen years she and her husband ran Don and Linda’s Tap in Brownsville. After selling the tavern they moved to their present location and in 1981 she began working for Ellison Electric, a job that she held for 21 years and thoroughly enjoyed. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Lomira. She enjoyed crafts, painting, going to their cabin, sewing, gardening, shopping and aerobics.

Survivors include her husband Don of Brownsville, her children; Jeffrey (Lisa) Collien of Waupun, Julie (Robert) Scharschmidt of Lomira, Jodi (Michael) Batzler of Waupun, three grandchildren; Sydney, Jaden, and Allison, three step-grandchildren; Ashley, Brooke, and Brennan, one step-great grandchild; Kailey, one sister; Carol (Richard) Thompson of Brownsville, two brothers; Robert Samp of Fond du Lac and James (Mary) Samp of Fond du Lac, three sister-in-laws; Karen Schoepke, Jaqueline (Charles) Henke, and Jill (Richard) Krudwig, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law.

Visitation for Mrs. Collien will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2003 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 30, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira with the Rev. Kevin Kowlaske officiating. Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield.
