Lillian Jarosz Obituary

Jarosz, Lillian "Lu" Age 92. Devoted aunt of Daniel (Janice) and Thomas (Kathy) Bakota; great-aunt of Kristin, Nicole, Caitlyn, Jill (Steven), and Kim. Preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Stanley, and John. A lifetime Chicagoan, Lillian was the daughter of Polish immigrants. She was born and raised in the Pilsen neighborhood and later relocated to the Gold Coast neighborhood, where she spent 50 years. She worked as a secretary for the Futorian Furniture Company for over 25 years. Lillian enjoyed being on the waters of Lake Michigan; where she often sailed and was a longtime member of the Columbia Yacht Club. It was her yearly tradition to host an Air and Water show viewing party for the entire family. Her other interests included volunteering for local political candidates, dancing at Grant Park in the summertime, participating in the Red Hat Society and the Chicago Bull Fight Club activities. Lillian was an active parishioner at Holy Name Cathedral, where she attended mass weekly. Visitation Monday, April 4, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 North State Street, Chicago, Illinois 60610.
