To the family of Mrs. Glasofer. I grew up in Stuart Gardens and Dr. Glasofer took good care of our animals and I remember Mrs. Glasofer from the animal hospital. St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands has been my home for the past 10 years. I read the notice via the Daily Press site. My thoughts are with the family in their loss.

I wish to extend my very deepest sympathy to Seymour and his family at this time. My childhood at Huntington Courts was enriched immeasurably by Lillian, and also by Doctor S. - who cared for my beloved Boston Bull - often at times decidedly inconvenient. They were contempories of my parents, Howard and Jane Lee, but moreover, they were neighbors and friends. I remember well those simpler times (before television and air conditioning)when hot summers drove neighbors outdoors in the evenings to catch the breezes off the James River...and to share thoughts on the events of the day. And when I needed help attaining an animal husbandtry merit badge, Lillian showed me where to find useful information in publications at the NN Animal Hospital on Jefferson. She, like so many other neighbors in those 'kinder, gentler' times, was akin to being a member of my extended family. If she saw or heard me do anything in the slightest untoward (not admitting that I ever did, mind you), she would have instantly corrected me and I would have been just as responsive as if my own mother had done so. I would not have wanted to disappoint her. Lillian Glasofer was a shining example of what a good neighbor can be, and she surely helped shape my life and pointed me in the right direction for a fulfilling career. I mourn her passing, as I am sure hundreds of others do as well.
