Worst, Lester F. 83, formerly of Chicago, son of the late Frederick and Frieda (nee Scheel) Worst, beloved husband of Nella (nee Tonet), loving father of Terry (Carol) Worst, Betty (Rev. Mark) Schulz, dear brother of the late Carol, loving grandfather of Jennifer (Scott) Shannon, Jonathon Worst and Christian Schulz, great-grandfather of Abigail and Gavin Shannon. Served in US Marine Corps, during WWII. A member of the Disabled American Veterans and the V.F.W. Post #2378 of Berwyn. He was employed as Chief Electrician at the Continental Bank in Chicago before retiring. Member of the I.B.E.W. Local #134 of Chicago. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 36W720 Hopps Rd., Elgin, IL with Rev. Keith Perry officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin and on Friday morning in the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to King of Glory Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Siociety. For information call 847-741-8800

Dear Mrs. Worst, Terry & Betty,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll always remember Mr. Worst sitting across from us girls in the balcony at church with the other scout leaders. I'll never forget that smile! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
