Leonard Ventress Obituary

Ventress Jr., Leonard "Bub" A licensed contractor, he died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at 9:45 p.m. in Ruston. He was 37, a resident of Ruston, a native of Lakeland and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Reserve. Visiting at Miller Funeral Home, Monroe, on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Religious service at Zion Travers Baptist Church, Ruston, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dismissal on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment in Grambling Memorial Garden, Grambling. Survived by his wife, Ramona Roberts Ventress; father, Leonard Ventress Sr.; mother, Geraldine P.V. Shepard; maternal grandmother, Mary P. Patterson; paternal grandmother, Adrine Ventress; two sons, "Lil" Leonard III and Xvaiver; two sisters, Nichole Ventress Williams and husband Charles Sr., and Mary P. Smith and husband Ralph; two brothers, Immanuel and wife Tippy and Tristin Ventress; devoted friends, Phillip Richard Sr., James Earl Jones, Mark Thierry and Curly; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandfather, William Ventress; two uncles, a sister and niece. He was a Mason, a graduate and magnet school student of Rosenwald High School and a graduate of Grambling State University where he was listed on the national dean's list.
