Leo Hoover Obituary


Leo W. Hoover, age 76, of Millcreek Twp., died at his residence Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was born in Snydersburg, Pa., May 6, 1937, a son of the late Henry A. and Mabel M. (Ginkel) Hoover.

Leo had a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and worked as an engineer at Ajax Iron Works, in Corry, Pa., for 28 years. He retired in 2004 from National Fuel, where he was the assistant superintendent, after 17 years of service. He enjoyed spending time working on his model train set. Leo was a member of St. George Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Eugene Hoover, Raymond Hoover, Grace Wolbert and Earl Hoover.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda C. (Tressler) Hoover; two children, Christine H. Musi, husband, Robert, of Erie and Joseph L. Hoover, wife, Brandy, of Horseheads, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Julianna Musi, of Erie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and to attend prayers there Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. George Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. George School, 1612 Bryant St., Erie, PA 16509, or St. Thomas School, 229 Washington St., Corry, PA 16407.
