At least three times a week I go under the viaduct over to Palmer Park. I always look for your name on the mural and realize what an inspiration you were to all. I still feel your presence at the Kensington Station as I make my way downtown to Roosevelt. Miss your physical presence but your spirit will live on in the lives of many.

Lenore (Packy) Fleming was a woman who had a zest for life unlike anyone I've ever met. I hope that when I'm in my 80's, I have at least a smidgeon of her energy. What a talented woman! I will miss meeting her at the Kensington station going downtown to volunteer at The Lighthouse Place. My children also were very sad upon hearing of her passing. We just found out today and would certainly have attended her services. My condolences to the family and God bless. The Aaron Family in Pullman

I am so sorry I couldn't attend services. It's sad in a way that sometimes we learn more about people in death. Lenore was such a remarkable talent and I had no idea about that and her generous nature. What a life well lived.

We will always remember Lenore. My husband and I both had her husband, Dr. Fleming, as our history professor at St. Joseph College in East Chicago, IN. My husband drove Dr.Fleming from Roseland to school everyday until Lenore got her driver's license and bought the little VW. They were the nicest people we knew. I remember one time Dr. Fleming took a group of us to the Chicago Historical Society and then to their apartment, where Lenore had a spaghetti supper waiting for all of us. We looked forward every year to her Christmas card, which always came a day or two after Christmas, but was so special because it was her art creation. I have kept many of them and will put them out now every Christmas. What wonderful memories we have. I always wished she lived closer, because I would have been spending many hours with her. She's in heaven, once again with Dr. Fleming.

I wish I could be at the funeral tomorrow, but I am teaching Vacation Bible School. I will be there in spirit.

Lenore was a wonderful lady and friend. When I lived in Pullman we enjoyed going to shows, being in the radio days together, and did a fun supper club one winter. As a widow with no children she could have just become a recluse, but she was out and about living life to the fullest every day. I will never forget coming home from work on the train one night in a blizzard, and running into Lenore, I asked what she was doing out in that storm, and she replied that she had to go read to the blind. She never thought to stay home, she had made a commitment to read to them, and she went. If anyone ever needed an example of a wonderful caring person who knew how to live, it would be Lenore.

I have lots of fond life long memories of Lenore. Her and George would come to our house for birthday and holiday parties. I always thought that my mom, Carolyn Stiegman, and Lenore could have been sisters. They shared the love of art, Girl Scouts and a life long friendship. Although I was saddened by her death, I know she's surrounded by her loved ones in heaven.

Lenore was my mother's best friend. I am sad that she is no longer here but happy for her to be reunited with George and, of course, my mother, Carolyn Stiegman. I celebrate her life with you.

Lenore was a special person. My husband and I were friends with her (and George) since we met them at Calumet College in 1975. I loved dinners sharing dinner and conversation with them. Lenore had a lively mind and was always delightfully interested in everything! She was a charming guest and a charming hostess - her lasagna was wonderful and her fresh raspberry desserts were fantastic. Lenore was a wonderful example of a person living life as a Christian. I shall miss her.
