Lenore Banich Obituary

Banich, Lenore (nee Pope), age 82 of East Side and Hegewisch passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008. She is survived by son, Michael M. (Doris) and daughter, Joan (Edward) Wallery, C.F.D., grandchildren, Sara (Bryan) Dulaney, Michael D. Banich, Jill Zahara, Edward Waller, and Amy (James) Kornas; great grandchildren, Dylan Jaeger, and Annabel Dulaney; many nieces and nephews; sister Dorothy (Tony) Haynie, sister-in-law Dorothy (Joseph) Roknich, and Angeline (Joseph) Warziniak. Beloved husband of the late Michael D. Banich, her parents John and Anna Pope, late brothers Dan (Daisy) Miller, George (Julie) Pope, and late sisters Helen (Fritz) Fischl, Mary (Prize) Zivat, and Sophie Nor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 1500 E. 186th Street, Lansing, Illinois with the Very Reverend Milos Vestin officiating. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana. Visitation at the Sadowski Funeral Home, 13300 S. Houston, Chicago, Illinois Friday, January 2, 2008 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Banich was retired from South Chicago Community Hospital and a member of the St. Archangel Serbian Orthodox Church. Pomen service at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it is to lose a parent and my prayers are with your entire family. I remember your mom as a very lovely lady who I would see usually driving along with your dad or shopping at the Jewel. My very best to you.
