Lemuel Morgan Obituary
Suffolk - Lemuel "Earl" Morgan, 79, of Bennetts Pasture Road, died July 16, 2012. A native of Newport News, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jacqueline A. Morgan, and three brothers, Alfred, Mark and Samuel Morgan. Earl was retired from the Air Force and also from the N.O.B. as a systems analyst. He was a member of Western Branch Community Church and the DAV Chapter 22.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Morgan; daughter, Debra G. Parker and husband Bobby of Chesapeake; step-daughter, Pam Rigby and husband Daryl of Chesapeake; step-son, Ed Boykin and wife Tammy of Florida; sister, Thelma Wilkinson of Matthews, NC; brother, Gerald Morgan of Maryville, TN; four grandchildren, Nick, Austin, Mylissa and Jacob; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. in Western Branch Community Church by Pastor Jim Wall. Burial with military honors will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Western Branch Community Church Building Fund. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com

Dianne, My heart aches for your loss. Earl was a true "southern gentleman" who always wore a smile. The first time we met, I instantly felt like he was an old friend. I'll miss his stories, his charm and most of all the endearing ways he showed his love for you. What a wonderful journey he had through this life and what a wonderful Angel he'll be serving our Lord. My deepest sympathy and all my love.

I knew Earl when he worked in inventory, back in the 1980's at NSC. He was such a nice man and one who took his job serious. He will always remain a good friend and extremly missed.
