LaVerne Reilly Obituary

Vern was, first and foremost, my mom’s best friend going back to their teen years at Parker. She spent Christmas Eve w/ us two years back and I got to pick her up in Crestwood, and so was blessed to spend a whole day with her. She struck me like she always struck me, hip and cool and funny but above all kind. I saw my mom, who passed in ’01, in her every mannerism. Later at Lynnie’s I admitted to getting turned around on the way and she said: “I thought that was going to be our secret.” I didn’t know she had even noticed, as we chatted of other things on our beautiful, sun-drenched drive. We had a hearty laugh and I sort of spontaneously blurted out: “I love you Auntie Vern!” She just smiled with that kindness, cocked her head and winked: “And I love you right back, Babe.” It was such an Auntie Vern moment – I will treasure it always.

Dear Richard, Reid, and families:
As an Arizona neighbor and friend of your wonderful, loving Mother, she will be sorely missed by our family. I loved her like a sister and have many happy memories of her carefree and marvelous personality. Our most sincere and loving sympathies are extended to everyone during the sad time.

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Vern's passing.She was a beautiful lady.We always enjoyed taking her out to lunch or dinner here and in Arizona. We will miss her beautiful face.We will keep you all in our prayers.
