When I think about Knollwood Lane and all of the great people who were the village that raised us, Laverne Davis comes to mind. As a small child, I always knew when Laverne was near and oh, what a contagious laugh and smile! No matter what time of day or night, I would ride my bike by and she would wave and tell me to come over. She was so interested in hearing about how I was doing. Rhonda and Glenn, I know that all of your great memories will ease your pain in the coming days, weeks and months. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as she was a special lady who I will never forget.

Laverne took me to my first Cubs game. We cheered loudly. We heckled the ump when appropriate. We littered the area with peanut shells. When we were told we were in the wrong seats, we left our shells and moved to the proper row. It was a great time.
It is a special lady that will take that kind of time for a young neighbor. I never forgot.
My sympathies to you all.

My deepest sympathy's to the DAVIS family. When I would stop by she loved to talk to me about the Cubs & her dog , and I will miss that. I am very very sorry for your loss.
