Healy, Laurin H. 92, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Winnetka and Wilmette, Illinois, passed away on Monday, June 12 after a stroke. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of 67 years and their three children, Deirdre Henderson of San Francisco, Hall (Anne) of Chicago and Duncan (Carrie) of Chicago, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Growing up in the Chicago area, Mr. Healy graduated from Williams College and worked as a reporter for the Chicago Daily News prior to serving as a Navy Lieutenant in World War II in England, Scotland and Germany. He worked for Encyclopedia Britannica and formed a public relations firm, Healy Baker & Bowden. He served as President of the Library on International Relations in Chicago, Illinois, and was appointed Honorary Consul General for the country of Thailand in Chicago, a position he held from 1962 to 1980. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2006 at 4 p.m at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 188 S. Swinton Avenue in Delray Beach.
