Lauraine Bollnow Obituary

Bollnow, Lauraine C. (nee Boissy) 90, passed away peacefully January 17, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. Born October 16, 1921 in River Forest, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Alice and Alphonse Boissy. She is survived by the love of her life Karl J. Bollnow who she married on February 9, 1957. They settled in Oak Park, Illinois to raise their family until retiring to Tucson in 1989. She was employed by the Chas. A. Stevens Company as a store supervisor for many years until the arrival of her children when she became a full time mother and homemaker. Her faith was very important to her, she was a member of the Ascension Parish in Oak Park and later became a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Tucson. An avid reader, she enjoyed all types of books. Her favorite activity was completing crossword puzzles but she enjoyed the diagramless ones the most. Her hobby was collecting music boxes and she was a fan of all sporting events. She loved playing cards with her grandchildren and was a gracious hostess who liked to cook and entertain. She will be remembered most for love of family, her quick wit, caring smile, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Lauraine was preceded in death by her brothers; Alphonse Jr., Gilbert, Thomas, and Kenneth; and her beloved Uncle Joe who had a special place in her heart. She is survived by four sons, Karl Jr. (Pamela) of Addison, Illinois, Kurt (Melanie) of Brookfield, Illinois, Kirby (Mary) of Tucson, Arizona, and Korey (Jeanne) of Homer Glen, Illinois and her seven grandchildren, Matt (Tiffany) Cantrell, Brian, Jeffery, Dustin, Katie, Clare, and Marissa, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the East Lawn Palms Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Autism Speaks Foundation which positively impacts children's lives. Gifts can be made online at events.autismspeaks.org\tribute\iauraine. Arrangements are under the direction of Heather Mortuary and Chapel, Tucson, Arizona. (520) 322-6131
