To the Carter family,
I love(d) Laura very much. She was such a big supporter of me and everyone she came across. Our Weight Watchers meetings will never be the same though her spirit is obviously palpable there. I feel so lucky to have had he touch my heart and be in my life. She truly was one hell of a woman. She taught all who knew her the definition of fighting with style and grace. I will always remember her sense of humor and lovable sarcasm. She will be missed. You are in my prayers.

Tanya's mom, I can't call her Laura or Mrs. Carter because that just doesn't sound right. Every now and again I would call her mumsie but she is Tanya's mom to me. Whenever I think of Disney, I will think of her. Having a beer at the German House in Epcot and eating some chocolatey pastry thingy in the French bakery, and floating in a boat throughout Mexico. And of course the fireworks on one heck of a hot sweltering night. At a particualrly low time in my life, she made me laugh and appreciate the really good things in life. Tanya, your mom will always be near and dear to my heart. She is that star that I will make all my wishes on.

We miss her walking past the house and stopping for a chat. Quick with a joke and always cheerful. Always.
Throughout her battle she was still making jokes (& even a song!)
What a fabulous lady, the real deal.
Our love to you all

Dear Carter Family,
Please except my deepest sympathy on the loss of Laura. She was one in a million, a real trooper! We met a few years ago and have remained friends ever since. We chatted weekly. We would both complain and then make each other laugh. Knowing that she is out of pain and in a better place makes her passing easier. She will never be forgotten by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Again, please except my sincerest sympathy.
