LaRue Thompson was a very special gift to all of us in his pure faith and Christlike service. In missing him, Marjory, Edwin and Cheryl, Bradley and Kate, Kristin and Jennifer, we share your sadness and your joy in his eternal rest. Certainly the angelic choir in its new pianist has a new beat! Peace

My sincere condolences to the entire Thompson family. I just saw the obituary in the Suburban Life newspaper. La Rue was first of all my teacher of sociology and government in high school and later a colleague on the
R-B staff. Then he was a personal friend with tennis for many, many years. I will miss him greatly.
My best to the family.

I have so many wonderful memories of LaRue - one of my favorites is the evening when he regaled us with a number of pieces on the piano before a church meeting, including "Take Me Out to the Ballgame"! He was a warm and gracious person who will be much missed.

Mr. Thompson was our high school prinicipal from 1965 through 1970 when my husband and I attended RB. We remember him as an involved leader who walked the halls frequently and seemed to know everyones name and class. Our heartfelt symapthies on your loss of husband, grandfather and friend, the head of your family and the head of our school family will surely be missed.

This loving and devoted servant of the Lord was an inspiration to many, many people. In the words of the Thompson family Psalm, LaRue always served the Lord with gladness. (Ps. 100) He will be missed by all who knew him, but we know he is with his Lord today in paradise. It is our responsibility to make a joyful noise in celebration of that!
We love you LaRue,
