Dear Sherry and Family,
My name is Don Juricka.Kurt and I went to O'toole together and were very close. He was an extremely talented artist and model builder as a kid.His Mom, Helen, was one of the sweetest, most patient,Moms ever.No matter what all the guys did hanging in the basement daily, she was always kind. We loved her.Kurt was always a lot of fun.We lost touch after grammer school, but I feel the loss of a good friend. My sympathy to you and your family.Kurt and you are in my thoughts.

Dear Sherry and Family,
My name is Marvelle Hopkins (Gross) and I went to O'Toole Elementary School and Harper High School with Kurt. My friend Phylis Rini (Santomarco) just called me here in Florida after reading about Kurt in the newspaper. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I have not seen Kurt in over 40 years but have many fond memories of our school years. He was the only student taller than me and we always stood next to each other in our class pictures. Of course I had a terrible crush on him and rememember him fondly. We were a very close group, particularly at O'Toole and I know we all have wonderful memories of Kurt and his two beautiful sisters, particularly Dana who was close in age to us. From reading his notice and looking at the pictures I can see he led a full life and leaves a wonderful legacy.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Marvelle Hopkins

For Sherry and Family.
I've known Kurt since high school. To me he was always the most happy-go-lucky guy that you could ever meet! He was always upbeat and had such a positive attitude. He once told me how very lucky he was to have a wife like you! I am so glad that you came into his life and gave him the happiness he truly deserved. He also talked so highly about his children and grandchildren. I know he will be greatly missed. God bless all of you!
My deepest sympathy, Sharon Mathis

Kurt and I were good or best friends in grammar school and high school. We always were in trouble, but it was just kids having fun! The principal in grammar school would always call Kurt and I into the office anytime there was something wrong. Kurt was a good artist that i dont think many people were aware of. He could just look at something and draw it! In high school we had a lot of classes together and both of us got interested in cars. In high school cars were all we had on our minds. Kurts dad bought him a 1960 falcon. We worked on that car all the time plus his dads model A. After high school Kurt joined the navy for four years, but we kept in touch. After the navy he bought a 1963 dodge. We worked at a race car shop for a while together, then life seemed to get in the way and we didnt see too much of each other after that. Then my son found his phone number in the phone book and i called him. Our friendship started again. We would talk on the phone a couple hours at a time. It was mostly about our families and our parents. I went and visited him once and it was like forty years had never passed! HE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART.
