My condolences to the Kolar family.
Kurt was a high school friend with whom I had lost touch. Only in recent months had I re-engaged with him on a legal issue. By no coincidence, I chose to contact him because I formerly knew him to be someone people could trust. From my brief conversations with him this past summer and from reading the many signings about Kurt, it's good to see Kurt had continued to be a compassionate person with integrity, using his talents to help others just as I had known him many years ago.
My sympathies to the Kolar family for their great loss.

I learned just today of Kurt's passing. How profoundly sad is this news. I knew Kurt as an adversary, a colleague and a friend. I especially remember his love of the theater, both as an actor and attorney. He once asked me to consider investing in a dramatic production, for which he had done all the legal work. It was obvious that he loved both the law and the theater just as he surely loved his family.
In an often dreary professional world, Kurt was a kind, sensitive, witty and refreshing personality. He will be missed. His death diminishes us all.
My condolences to all who knew and loved him, and especially his wife and children.

My deepest sympathies go out to Millie and the family. I knew Kurt, not very well, but from High School, and my mom was Margo McBride who worked with Millie for many many years. I am so sorry for your loss.

While I had only known Kurt for the past 3 or 4 years, we had several things in common and our friendship was growing to the point of our having recently introducted our families and children to each other. Kurt and his family had just visited us a few weeks before this profoundly tragic event.
Our sincerest condolences to Kimberly, Konrad and the rest of Kurt's extended family. He will truly be missed by so many people.

I am so so so sad about the passing of Kurt. I just met him because of the infe work he did for the Lawyers for The Creative Arts. I spoke to him about my case on August 17, 2012 for 90 entire minutes at his office - and he was so genuienly interested in helping me with an Intellectual Property problem I was having. I saw the pix in the office of his child -- what a darling kid and I see here, that he had a wife -- her name is Kimberly -- and my heart goes out to YOU,Kim at this horrible time of your life. Aw, geez, I just don't know what to say, as the pain must be so great. What I would say is that even for the brief time I knew Kurt - I'd call him 'Attorney Kolar' - I knew he was a compassionate man and someone who'd help and assist. That's a memory few of us have attained in any of our lifetimes.

I knew Kurt and worked with him years ago in theater. We'd run into each other over the years, and he was one of the funniest guys I knew. Recently I had thought about him when he popped back up online. I'd put off catching up with him properly, which is completely my loss. I was so glad to have heard from mutual friends he was over the moon for his wife Kimberly and a very proud father. We'd wished that kind of happiness for Kurt for years, and I'm so grateful he found it. I can hear his voice now, remember the random, hilarious things he'd say. I also remember so many kind things he did for me and many friends, always doing them quietly without much fanfare. I wish I could have been there for the gathering in his memory, but I am living out of town for the time being. My heart was hurt when I learned the news. Kurt, and everyone else who loved him, are held in my thoughts now. I hope to meet his family someday, but I send you all strength, love and peace until then.

An amazingly appropriate farewell gathering was held last night 8/29/2012 for Kurt Kolar. Many who knew Kurt from long ago and from recent times spoke. Sam Billig from Kurt's Marquette Sigma Chi fraternity elogquently talked about the unique memories Kurt has left us with and the character of Kurt which can be best summarized as unyielding in his convictions.
As I drove to the the gathering, I distinctly remember finding the heaviest song in my playlist, turning it on and turning up the volume. When I left, I did the the exact same thing. That itself is enviable legacy... Much peace to Kurt and much peace to his family.

I was so shocked when my wife told me the bad news, I last saw him a few months ago in Court and he was just raving about his wife and child, with the biggest smile on his face, he was so alive and full of life. I met him during the bankruptcy court days when us young lawyers would meet for happy hours drinks, he had such a big personality and variety of interests. He was not your typical attorney type, he was fun to be around! You just knew where you stood with him, so genuine and sincere as a man could be. I will truly miss him.

I didn't know Kurt well; met him via telephone through his mother-in-law and wife. The few times he spoke with with me and from my conversations with his wife and mother-in-law, I'm sure he was great father, wife, and attorney. He had my respect. He will without question, be missed forever!

Kurt was such a loving and kind father. He was a great advocate for his son. Kurt always had a big smile and a loving good-bye every time he would drop off his son at school. He would chat with other parents and I have learned how much that meant to them. He will always be remembered. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Deeply saddened by the news. As a college friend and fraternity brother, I had many great moments with Kurt. I remember a trip to Crystal Lake years ago. We also went to Laramie,WY to represent Sigma Chi one summer. And he made frequent visits to St.Louis. A mutual friend summed it up best in saying Kurt "was a one of a kind". I remain stunned. My prayers are with the entire Kolar family.

Kurt had been a great friend for the past 30 years. I am so fortunate we were able to maintain our friendship as we both went out into life and were blessed with our own families. I will miss our talks about the challenges of making it in this world. I know that Kurt always looked forward to being a loving husband and father, goals he achieved. The loss of Kurt was truly a tragic and painful event for many of us. My thoughts will remain with Kim and Konrad in this sorrowful time, and forever.
