Family-Placed Death Notice

Kirke Eddy Vernon, 66, of Cumming, GA died at Northside Hopital Atlanta on Monday, November 19, 2007. A long time resident of Connecticut, Mr. Vernon was the son of the late Hollis Vernon and Jean Wilkes. He regularly attended the Black Rock Congregational Church of Fairfield, CT & hosted a weekly Bible study. Mr. Vernon was also an avid tennis enthusiast playing both tennis and paddle tennis at the Patterson Club. He also represented Connecticut in multiple Senior Olympic Games for both tennis & swimming events. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Vernon of Cumming, GA; sons Chris (Cynthia) Vernon of Franklin, TN and Patrick (Andrea) Vernon of Orlando, FL; brother Charles Vernon of Windsor, CT; and grandchildren Amelia and Campbell Vernon. Memorial Services will be held on Wed., Nov. 28, at 2:00pm, at Cumming First United Methodist Church; Rev. Rimes McElveen will officiate. A reception will immediately follow the service.
