Kevin Dennis Obituary

I thought of you today - which makes it no different than any other day. You are a part of all that I do, and I see you in our boys in so many ways. I can hear you in my ear, "Toughen up, Tul." You have given me the strength to go on. I love you.

11 months ago today we lost you and it breaks my heart for your little family to be without you...but rest assured that the girl you loved so much.....and made your wife ...is also the very best mom to Jack and Quinn..you whould be very proud of your little family ...as we all are here.. missing you every day...

Please accept my delay in writing this condolence note as it is the hardest thing I have done in my life so far. You have all lost a wonderful part of your lives. Kevin was not only my Nephew and my godson, Kevin was an inspiration to me. I beleive Kevin and I knew what it was to appreciate every day you live, and I feel Kevin would want us all to try and continue to do this. Kevin Loved not only you,Laura, Jack and Quinn but he loved his life because of you. Laura Jack and Quinn you knew such a great love, a blessed life, and I am sorry it was for such a short time. Back at Marquette, Kevin and practiced the hug we'd give each other when we ran into each other in the future. We figured we'd eventually leave Milwaukee, become "adults", and forget about our old friends until we bumped into them in an airport or something. We practiced that hug and laughed and laughed at the idea that we'd ever be out of touch. Thinking of that moment breaks my heart, but I know that he's watching us miss him and waiting for that hug when the time comes for us to join him, which, in this incredibly sad moment, is a strange but genuine comfort.

I had a conversation with Kevin Just last week. I asked him how he liked the accelerated pace of working at LS Contracting Group. His response was that he loved the fast pace because the day would go by quickly enabling him to see his family. He also commented that he had learned a lot for the short time he had been working with us.
He then turned the table and asked me what I thought about him and his performance.
I commented to him that he was one of the smartest guys I ever met (he could pick things up in one review) and I also said to him that “He was a genuine and real person and we at LS Contracting Group love Real People”
I have met many different personalities working in the construction business and I have to say that Kevin was a “what you see is what you get” kind of guy. Just hard working and committed to the task at hand.
I also recall some mornings he would be talking to his son on the phone and he would say
“What’s up Buddy ?” I knew from his caring conversations that followed he truly loved his family and his sons.
We are only touched by people of his sincerity and honesty a few times in our lives.
I am surely glad I met him and I will sincerely miss him.
