Kenneth Wimberly Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
Mr. Kenneth J. Wimberly, age 53, of Atlanta, Ga, formerly of Macon, Ga. 1972 graduate of Albany State College (University), Albany, Ga, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2004. His father, Kenneth James Wimberly, Sr. and brother, Jimmy Jones preceded him in death. Son in-law of the late John Wesley and Lovella Newell Hunt of Bowdon, Ga. He is survived by loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Barbara Hunt Wimberly; children, Kentavia and Kenneth John of Atlanta, GA; mother, Ms. Earlie Wimberly; sisters, Regina (Eddie) Johnson and Marilynn Wimberly of Macon, GA; brothers, Gregory Wimberly of Macon, GA and Anthony (Brenda) Wimberly of Austell, GA; sister in-law, Annie Lee Jones of Edison, GA, Vivian (Paul) Springer of Bowdon, GA, Veronica (Alfonso) Walker of Mableton, GA, Janice (Larry) Thomas and Carolyn Rene (Thomas) Bowen of Carrollton, GA; first cousin, Sheila Holmes of CA; nine aunts, six uncles, several nieces and nephews. He was very passionate and loyal to New Heart UMC, Albany State University, Westlake High School Booster Club and Old National Athletic Association. Kenneth was an accountant with the State of Georgia. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 11 A.M. in Murray Brothers Cascade Chapel. Interment, Bowdon Community Cemetery, Bowdon, GA. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the chapel at 10:45 A.M. I knew Ken when I worked with him at the state several years ago. I had not seen him in about 10 years but a year or so ago had the opportunity to exchange greetings with him through a mutual friend. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and want you and your family to know that you are in my prayers and thoughts.

It's been many many years since school at B. S. Ingram and growing up below Tindall Heights. I have thought of those days often over the years. I was sadden to read of Kenneth's death. Wishing you strength during this time of sadness. Sharing in your sorrow and truly hoping that knowing those around you care will help comfort you during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We are going to miss Kennneth very much. I can remember the day I first met Kenneth in September 1968 at Albany State College. We became friends instantly. The times we shared at the Football Games chearing for our Golden Rams football team. I am also going to miss him cooking at the football games. Sometime Kenneth would stay outside during the game so the food would be ready when the game was over. I really enjoyed having him as a frat brother and a friend. "I'm going to miss you Kenneth, so rest on my brother and I will see you on the other side."
