Giovanni and TC and Kit's friends,

It was a beautiful mass today, but I can't help but adding a few words that I need to say about Kit.

I love Kit. She lived to help others: family, friends and, many, many times people she did not know. She never flagged in her concern for others. She ALWAYS added to our lives; she never, ever burdened us even during these past several very tough years.

She did not JUST care--she was smart and quick, she got results, she knew what she was doing. Wenever we did what she said, things worked out. The sparkle in her eyes and the optimistic tone in her voice, when confronting the suprise problems we threw at her, never diminshed though underneath that sparkle, as most of us had occasion to learn, was a willful spirit that did not accept our wrong headed persistnce after she had given us direction!

For those of us who only saw her serendipitiously (unless we needed a favor), she will live on as a presence
for the rest of our lives. "What would Kit do in this situation?" will provide guidance for us if we just listen to the answer and don't expect the easy solution every time.

Though she may have been troubled by the fact that some of her friends actually voted Republican, lots of
Republicans loved her.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She always will hold a special place in my heart. She was my confirmation sponsor and I took her name when I was confirmed. She will live on in her name.

Kit was a unique person who affected other people's lives in very special ways. I loved working with Kit in the Secretary of State's Office but especially enjoyed arguing with her and then laughing with her about it later. She lit up rooms and lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with Kit's family. God bless you, Kit.

One knows when someone special was a part of their life. Although I have not seen Kit in several years, I was in tears and felt for her loved ones when I heard. Peace to Giovanni, TC and the family.
