Hi Fell family,

I recently found an old picture Katie took of me when we were at JCB, and so many memories came flooding back as if it was just yesterday she was playing NIN for me for the 1st time in our room. I recall thinking she didn´t look like that´s the music she would listen to. she often reminded me of how multi faceted she was. She had the ability to surprise me and I loved that about her. I had 3 sisters I was displaced from & even though Katie & I were about the same age, she was very mature & discerning & was like an older sister to me.

Katie was my roomie and truly the sweetest person. She is the reason I listened to Depeche Mode & am still a fan to date.

She let me borrow her supercool black leather jacket so often people thought it was mine. I never had to ask her if I could borrow something to wear, she always seemed to know instinctually that I needed something & would offer me just the item that would make my outfit shine. I won best dressed senior at my private school, largely because of the items she so sweetly offered up , which I paired with my thrifted items.

I´m certain she´d have given me the literal shirt off her back if she thought for a second I needed it or felt it would look cool with the pants I had on.

This is not about fashion - I guess I just wanted her family to know that we spent many times sitting on the edge of her bed talking about music and art and Katie had a positive impact on my life when she was struggling with so much in her own. She was so smart and inspiring. I´m
grateful to have known her and loved her.

I don´t want to write more here, though so many years have passed I´m sorry it has taken this long. I hope this isn´t too much to process.

I´m on socials and would welcome the chance to connect with you if you´d like

I am so sorry Katie left this earth too soon & I pray the memories you have of her comfort you. The days it was too much for her to get out of bed were days when I felt helpless & lacked the skills to do what I really wanted to do , save her from her challenges & take away her pain..

She was a wonderful young woman and I regret how we lost track of one another after I moved.

In my mind she is forever young & in high school turning up the music while I dance around our room then I plop down next her as we both throw our heads back smiling & fall back on her bed, our feet still in the ground, while her beautiful long hair falls across her face & we realize it´s late and I have to be up early for class. That´s the Katie I will always remember & forever carry in my heart,

She was truly an angel in my world.
