Karen Lechowich Obituary

I was fortunate to have had Ms Lechowich (later Karen) for my internship director at Cook County Hospital. She was the first RD I saw in an administrative capacity. She was always fair, funny and friendly to all. She certainly was a positive role model for many of us!!!

Karen worked for the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics for the longest and last job she had. I worked for and with her and know she was respected and admired by the 70 thousand plus members. She expanded the organization´s reach so that it changed its name from the American Dietetic Association, started more than 20 practice groups that provided specialty focused networking and continuing education, and served in several senior leadership positions. She was a true force in the profession.

Every Christmas Eve Karen continued a tradition of her Moms and left a present at our door. We always tried to catch her but she was quick. We treasure this memory and treasure this remarkable friend

I was so sorry to hear about Karen. My prayers go out to her family and for the repose of her soul.
I worked with Karen as a volunteer at Midway Airport and I always enjoyed our conversations. She was a kind and helpful person. She will be missed.

Karen was a special cousin. She was always kind and thoughtful to everyone. Her laugh would always make me smile. Saw her last at our 50th wedding anniversary. She was a delight and she will be truly missed. Prayers to all the family.

Thanks to Karen for her many kindnesses. She always remembered people in a special way.
