Julie Wertelka Obituary

Wertelka, Julie Loving daughter of the late Matthew and Frances Wertelka; born on Mary 26, 1925, at rest October 23, 2015. She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Christopher; brother, Seaman Anthony Wertelka and nephew, Jackie Wertelka. She is especially beloved and will be missed by her nephew, Anthony Joseph Wertelka and his wife Linda; he always looked out for her. She was born and raised in Chicago in the family home above the family business, Wertelka Tavern. It was one of the oldest continuously run family businesses in Chicago. Once she retired from over 50 years at Argon Laboratories, she continued to run the tavern. She was honored by the city, with a street being named after her. She also was invited to the Governor's Ball in Springfield. In her life she enjoyed golf, travel, acting and modeling. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Clearing Funeral Home, 5800 W. 63rd St. Interment private. For information call 773-284-5755.
